A group of grad students invited me to join them in their saturday morning jog, on the huckleberry trail (where the loose criminal tried to excape a while back), anyways I wasn't interested and after they had asked for a "little while", I succumbed. The Joke was I hadn't remontely done anything befitting anyform of exercise, and we were going to jog 3 miles . So I woke up early, thanked the Lord for being alive and got picked up. I stretched so hard preparing myself for the work ahead and to my amazement I managed to jog nearly 2miles. You would think that's where the story ends, well I walked the whole 2 miles back (I was so proud of myself there was no need for any more excersise), got back very impressed with my meagre effort, and my joints have been aching since. So I am begining to wonder did the jogging have anything to do with my aching joints. You would think the muscles should be affected. Well its been quite difficult to get around, but I can't but think, maybe the stretching was excersise enough on its own.

Yes o ..the jogging definately has everything to do with ur aching joints.U need to keep up with the jogging.You joints have not seen the kind of jolting u just submitted them too,so thats their own way of crying out o..LOL

@naijabloke thanks for the advice. It would never have crossed my mind, seing as I would expect my back and muscles to ache, certianly not my knee joints.

Girl, it was definitely the jogging... your body (incl. joints) is nowhere near used to all of that movement and exertion.

reminds me of when i went to play tennis after YEARS of not playing...oh yes...the joints...the muscles...all of it will cry for like two days...sha dont stop...
@NB: You know it's luff nau. I had to pay u back, one way or the other. Anyways, if u want to know, i partcipate in an aerobic dance class twice a week for one and half hours and i power walk/ jog for 30 minutes once a week. I tell you, working out pays off big time. Apart from doing it for the effects, the 6-pack abs and all, it's good to keep fit. Most of the diseases out there, are due to being overweight. Please, hit the gym and watch ur diet.
BTW, NB i'm not an Ijebu girl, but really close.
@belle - I am telling you, girl, the kind of joint ache I've been going through it unbeleivable, it got to a point that I didn't want to sit cause I knew it would be a serious struggle to get up.
@lbucki - But my back and muscle area, did not feel like it had done anywork out, just my knee joint. It really should have been proportioned right!!
@diamond - I only wished my muscles would have ached a little. I felt like everytime I stood I was about to topple over.

Girl, It might have something to with your trainers/sneakers/running shoes. Were you running on hard ground or grass?
If you can hear your shoes hitting the ground, as in slapping the ground, your running technique might be the problem.
@ londonbuki-Thanks for that, that could be it, I was doing fashion parade. Vanity is terrible. Was doing colour coordination. U know how it is!! Will make sure I have better trainers for next time, (thats if there is one). Let me finish this hike this weekend and see how I feel.
