You are the air I breathe!
Dear Lord, today the day I never would have believed even in my wildest imagination would come to pass, today Lord you have shown to me yet again, that You are my God and my all. That nothing is Too Impossible for You to handle and deal with. And that none of the words that You have spoken, that You are still speaking, and about to speak, ever returns to You void, invalid and cancelled.
My God, You are the very reason I am alive today, the wherewithal of my very existence, without whom I would have crumbled, deteriorated and fallen apart a long time ago. Many were the times when my legs were life less, my arms hanged limp, my head too heavy for my wearied shoulders to carry, and the strength within completely sapped out. Yet Lord You remained that backbone, which kept me standing, and standing firmly, refusing to let me be put to shame. It was You Lord that kept me standing throughout the storm, making sure the troubles that raged all around me didn’t knock me off balance and deposit me into the very ocean of it all. It was You Lord that kept me standing throughout the wind of discontent, making sure I didn’t get carried away with the gust of doubts and uncertainties that came at a speed second to none. It was always You Lord, ONLY YOU Lord that kept me standing throughout the quake, to make ardent sure that the visible cracks that had appeared all around me didn’t take the ground underneath me to bury me, never to be heard from again in the land of the living. Oh Yes, Lord, It was always YOU!
Mighty deliverer, only YOU are beautiful beyond descriptions. Only You are way too wonderful for Words. Only You are God, and God all by Yourself. I have never known You to be a promise breaker, a taker backer of Your words, and a disappointment. Oh No Lord, You have always remained Truthful, You are Faithful, You are Kind, You are way too generous, You are too much for Words, and I just want to take the time out, today, this afternoon, this very second, this very moment to tell You, that You are indeed the very air that I breathe, and all that I am belongs to You. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, for taking the time to bless me and make me a blessing in the Land of the Living. It is true, and I have tasted and I have found indeed LORD, that there is No god Like You GOD!

I will wait
My beloved told me a story recently. A story that laid much emphasis on the account of when a man of God was told to go and anoint a King; and even though he had some ideas of what a king should look like – You know tall, handsome, stocky, strong and should be at least head and shoulders better than any man in sight – when he arrived, and after the first seven came before him (whom all appeared to have all the aforementioned qualities), the Lord told him, that the king was not among them. And yet, when a not so matured (small)young (boy)man came forward - you could imagine the shock and disappointment that came along with it – the Lord told him to rise and anoint him as king.
This got me thinking, and I couldn’t help but marvel at the testimony of such a man. I couldn’t help but marvel at my own testimony.
We all know that the story is concerning a young man who went by the Name of David and the man of God was Samuel (1 Samuel 16:1-13). We were told that he was sent for, from where he was tending sheep, BUT have we ever wondered how long he may have been out there for? How long he spent being a shepherd. How long he lived as a shepherd.
Now we know how shepherds lived in biblical times. The life of a shepherd was indeed a very lonely one, and could at times be very dangerous. In those days, the shepherd would lead the sheep and goats, who were always herded together, to an area where they could get food and water. He also knew each and everyone one of the animals, and watched over them both night and day. He had to spend time knowing each of the animals, because he would have to give an account of them and pay a very expensive price should anything happen to a single one. At night, when the animals went to sleep in their enclosure, the shepherd was expected to sleep lying across the entrance of the enclosure, with his body acting as a gate for the enclosure so that nothing could get in or out. So as you can see, this meant that the shepherd had no other life, except to live for his animals.
1 Samuel 16:11 - "Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.”
Now this same bible told us that David was a shepherd. Even though we were not told how long he was a shepherd for, it did tell us, that after waiting, after spending time protecting and shielding his animals, after fighting any devourer that tried to steal or kill his beloved animals, he was surprisingly called back to civilization. And obviously someone would have had to take his place. But I don’t want to dwell on this.
I can tell you that while he lived a life of a shepherd, it probably never crossed his mind that a day such as that day would come. I’m sure that his animals had become his friends, his confidants, his best friends forever (BFFs), his Facebook friends, his twitter followers, his YouTube biggest fans and spectators. I’m sure you get what I am trying to say here. They were his social network. And I won’t be surprised that he had gotten so cosy living that life that he never thought that there could be any other life (better) than what he had going on. But no, God had something better. Much more better.
Friends you have got to learn how to wait.
You know sometimes we go through a period of wilderness, but one thing we must never forget is that a day is surely coming. A surprise visit, a knock on the door, an increase, a promotion, a breakthrough, a healing, friends believe me, I don’t know what you are waiting on the Lord for, such a day is surely coming. Make up your mind to wait until that day comes. Even Habakkuk, waited upon that day (“I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guard post. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how he will answer my complaint” – Habakkuk 2:1). He was expectant, or else why would he be hanging out on a watchtower. He kept an eye out. Be expectant, regardless of what is going on in your life, remain resolved.
Sometimes the life you are leading isn’t what you expected. Even where you are isn’t where you envisaged is where you ought to be. Wait on the Lord. Sometimes it may seem that that situation is taking longer than it should. Wait on the Lord. Sometimes, you feel that you have done all you can, and feel it is time to just accept your fate, wait on the Lord. He will surely show up and SHOW OUT. He will so show out that people will come and hold the hem of your garment asking you to show them the way to your God (Zechariah 8:23). Believe me, in no time that will be your testimony. This is our month of Divine Rescue; the Lord shall rescue you from all of your challenges in Jesus Name. Amen.

What state are you in?
But the Lord hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart. Fearing for their lives, the desperate sailors shouted to their gods for help and threw the cargo overboard to lighten the ship – Jonah 1:4-5
Isn’t it amazing how wonderful God is! That even in the height of our disobedience He still has plans of what we could achieve in whatever state we find ourselves. You are probably wondering “what is she on about?” I’m going somewhere with this J.
When Jonah in the first verse of chapter one received his commission from God to preach repentance to the people of Nineveh (the capital city of Assyria, a people who are of constant threat to Israel, and of whom God had declared (many times through His prophets Hosea 11:5 and Amos 5:27) that He would use as an instrument of punishment against the Israelites), you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand why Jonah fled from delivering the message. After all, any patriotic Israelite would have longed for Assyria’s destruction. No patriotic Israelite would want to be involved in a rescue mission for their enemies. I mean think about it! If say for example there was someone who was seriously threatening your job, you family, your very life and you received a message from God to go and help them, I think if you were very honest with yourself, you would probably think twice about it (and the really honest ones will probably start dancing, that finally the day of destruction of their enemy has finally arrived J), but this post is not about enemies.
Don’t you just Love God!
Of course God knew Jonah was going to flee. Have you not read where it says He searches the heart of man and examine secret motives (Jeremiah 17:10a). Have you not read that God doesn’t want anyone to perish (Ezekiel 33:11; 1 Timothy 2:4), and of course there were other lives just as important as the lives of the Ninevites. The lives of the sailor who were going to be on the ship bound for Tarshish. Obviously if Jonah wasn’t on that ship they probably would not have found themselves in danger of death by drowning as a result of the violent storm, but notwithstanding, they would have continued living, and would have been ignorant of the love of the one TRUE God, the Lord God of heaven and earth. Not the gods of the figment of their imagination that had no ear to hear them, let alone help.
Of course God knew Jonah was going to flee. Have you not read where it says He gives all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserves (Jeremiah 17:10b). He probably anticipated the flight of Jonah, and through the actions of Jonah God used it to save a totally different group of people.
The sailors were awestruck by the Lord’s great power, and they offered him a sacrifice and vowed to serve him. – Jonah 1:16
Don’t you just Love God!
As children of God, even in our backslidden and out of fellowship with God state, God still loves us, continues in His HOT pursuit of us, NOT willing for us to be castaways. But we must always remember that He is an all knowing God, and even in that state, He still places people in our paths whom He knows we have the ability to help. God is always forever working on bringing us back to repentance and back to fellowship with Him. Think of the example of one who is desperately in love with someone who doesn’t love them back, it is so sad but that is sometimes the relationship we have with God. He is constant chasing us, and we keep giving Him the unrequited cold shoulder love.
But whatever state you find yourself, whether the “I am in love with God” kind of state, or the judgement condemnation of others (backslidden state), always remember, who you are, and whose you are. “ I worship the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land” - Jonah 1: 9. You still have something to offer, there are people whose lives are depending on the message of the Love of God you are carrying. A time is coming when we have to give account of it, never let any opportunity pass you by regardless of how you feel or what you think.
My Lord and my God, please forgive me in any way I have judged the people you’ve placed on my path and the times I have shyed away from delivery Your message in Jesus Name. Amen.
